The ones you waved at from the roadside as a kid. Vintage and classic trucks parked where you can walk right up and talk them over.
A lot of the trucks that came into New Zealand through the 60s, 70s and 80s were unique to this country. Operators worked around the laws the New Zealand way and ran high horsepower because of the terrain. Plenty of that iron is being restored right now, and a fair bit of it is coming to Cromwell.
Every little kid has stood on the side of the road and pulled the arm for a toot. Some of us grew up and drove them. There's a bit of kid in everyone, really.
Restored, half-restored or still earning its keep. Truck clubs and single owners both welcome, and there's room for a club to park up together.
Three days of classic haulage parked alongside a century of vintage iron.
