Easter is peak autumn in Central Otago: golden poplars, ripe orchards and long clear days. Stay local and make the show the anchor of a proper long weekend.

  • Cromwell: orchards, the heritage precinct on the lake, and wineries up the Kawarau Gorge.
  • Alexandra & Clyde: rail-trail country, river trails and old gold-town pubs.
  • Wanaka & Queenstown: under an hour's drive, with the full resort-town spread.
  • Book early: Easter is a busy weekend in Central; lock in accommodation as soon as your passes are sorted.

What should I bring?

Sun hat and sunscreen (Central Otago autumn sun still bites), sturdy shoes for paddock walking, a warm layer for the morning, and a camera. It's a working machinery event, so expect dust.

Is it family friendly?

Very. There's a dedicated kids and family zone, the parades run twice a day, and youth ticket pricing covers ages 16 and under.

Where exactly is the venue?

The venue announcement is coming. It will be in Central Otago within easy reach of Cromwell, Alexandra, Wanaka and Queenstown, with parking details published alongside the ticket release.

What about food and drink on site?

Food trucks and catering vans run all three days, with market stalls alongside. Full site rules (including what you can bring in) will be published with the ticket release.

Can I bring my dog?

Site rules, including animals, are being finalised and will be published before tickets go on sale. Working machinery and dogs are usually a poor mix, so plan for a dog-free day out.
